State Solo & Ensemble: Saturday, March 17, 2018 We once again have the privilege of hosting the MSBOA State Solo & Ensemble Festival this year! This is an honor to be asked once again, as we will be playing host to over 30 area high schools and their top musicians for this great event. This is very important stewardship opportunity for our band and our community. To ensure we have a successful event, we need all hands on deck. ALL SCHS Band Students need to sign-up to volunteer. Matching Funds After last week's Pre-Festival clinic concert, we have officially raised $3,121 in donations this year and have reached our matching donation for an additional $2,000!!! WOW!! A HUGE thank you to all those families who donated and have shown their support for our music programs here at SCHS! The money raised will go towards funding scholarships (such as our upcoming booster scholarship auditions), bringing in additional clinicians (like those from our Sectional Day and this past week's Clinic Concert), and more! Concert Ensembles Pre-Festival Clinic Concert with Mr. Elon Jamison: Thursday, February 22nd Our Pre-Festival Concert is coming up this Thursday! We are very proud to welcome award-winning director, Mr. Elon Jamison (Director of Bands, Ferndale High School) as our guest clinician during the day and for the evening's activities. During the school day, Mr. Jamison will be working with all three concert ensembles. Mr. Jamison will also give a short clinic to each group on stage during our Pre-Festival Concert later that evening.
