Matching Funds We are very fortunate to have had an alumni family step forward to offer our band program the opportunity to raise funds via a matching donation of up to $2,000! If you are willing to help us reach our $2,000 goal to earn the other full $2,000 donation ($4,000 total for our program!), please join us for one of our upcoming concerts and donate to our donation drum, or click here to donate through our SCHS Music Booster's Online Store. Concert Ensembles Sectional Day: Wednesday, February 7 This Wednesday, professional musicians will be coming in to work with each section of the band in preparation for Band Festival in March! This year, all three Band classes will be performing on Saturday, March 3rd. Those groups that earned qualifying ratings at Districts will be performing again at State S&E in March. All groups will be performing again in May. As rehearsals are determined, they will be publicized here and in the band room. Any student wishing to participate is asked to begin by obtaining a copy of the book: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven Covey. Students were very excited at the idea of doing a special performance for just the two jazz bands! Opportunities SCHS Music Boosters Scholarship Auditions It’s time once again for our annual booster scholarships on auditions. These scholarships are open for any 9-11 grade music student who will be enrolled in an Band/choir class for the 2018-2019 school year. As a supplement to the student’s school music program, Detroit MYS complements and supports school music instruction with additional guidance and challenge for the advancing music student in grades 2-12.
