Another State S&E weekend has come and gone successfully! On behalf of the thousands of students and parents who walked our halls this weekend, I can not begin to thank you enough for all of your efforts. From set-up with all our donors, committee chairs, co-chairs, parent and student volunteers, through the event day and into our tear down last night, this was the smoothest festival we have had yet in my time at Stoney. You all have shared what makes Stoney so special, and it is why so many keep coming back to our site-- and that reason is YOU. Thank you all so, SO much for giving of yourselves so generously!
We have two more weeks and one more performance before our Spring Break... read on for all the details on it as well as our upcoming rehearsals. March Madness continues in the band room at SCHS with another HUGE event coming up on Saturday, March 19th: SCHS hosts MSBOA State Solo & Ensemble! Please read on for more details...
Concert Ensembles State Solo & Ensemble: Saturday, March 19th State Solo & Ensemble is just two weeks away and we still have slots on the signup that need to be filled! We are blessed to be selected to host the State Solo & Ensemble (S&E) each year in order to provide our students with this fabulous experience right in our own backyard, without having to travel a great distance. For this event, we typically play host to just over 30 different schools from all over Oakland, Macomb, and Livingston Counties. As a thank you for hosting, MSBOA allows us to sell concessions as a means of fundraising. This is a HUGE opportunity for us to not only do well and be asked to host again so we can bring this opportunity so close to home for our students, but for us to earn some funds to aid in such things as the upkeep/repair of our own school instruments that are currently provided to our students free of charge. We have coordinators and co-chairs for all of our areas, but we need many helping hands throughout the day. We hope you will find a slot to fill on the sign up to bring in a donated item on 3/18/16. We still need cakes, cupcakes, brownies pies... and soda pop cans. Most importantly, there are some slots to fill for volunteering. Click Here to sign up! Large Chamber Ensembles- Brass: Our last rehearsal before State S&E will be this Monday, March 14th. Please bring your $3.50 for State S&E if you have not already done so! Our performance time for Saturday is 11:11am; please be sure you coordinate your volunteer time so you are available for our performance! Woodwind: You are responsible for keeping up with your parts in the coming months, as we will be performing for our final performance, our Chamber Music Day in Rochester Park on Friday, May 20th. We will resume Tuesday 2:45-3:30pm rehearsals on April 26th, May 3rd, & 17th in order to prepare for our performance. Percussion: Your final performance will be for our Spring Concert on May 11th. Rehearsals will resume with James in April. Upcoming Events
