Good day and hello to all our SCHS Band Families! I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend! After our first week of virtual classes full of orientations and introductions last week, students can anticipate starting to make music this week in our class meetings. Along with our first assignments to be posted in Google Classroom, here is more information pertaining to this week in our (virtual) Band Rooms. Please continue to reach out if there is anything I can do for you or your student! Looking forward to starting to make music this week with students in all classes! Mrs. Staniszewski ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Equipment Pick-Up: Wednesday, September 9th If you/your student is in need of any school equipment/instruments, or if they currently have a Hart MS instrument and need to change it for an SCHS instrument, appointments for pick-up will be available on Wednesday, September 9th. Please be sure to have your Instrument Usage Contract and Usage Fee ready to turn in at your scheduled appointment. (Click here for link to Contract.) If you need to schedule an appointment, please e-mail me to schedule. Class Meeting Information Approximately 30 minutes before each class meeting, students will receive an e-mail from me through our Google Classrooms that contains our Zoom Meeting link for the day along with any other resources or materials we will be referencing for the day's lesson. All lesson information will also be posted in our Google Classroom and organized by date so that if a student is absent or needs to go back to make up work, everything they need can be easily located. LAST CALL: Beginning of the Year Surveys If you/your student have not already completed these surveys, I would very much like to receive YOUR input as I continue to plan for the school year! Please fill out the survey that best fits your involvement (student or parent/guardian) to make sure that no matter what our learning environment might be, we are investing our energies in the best ways for enjoyment and success in our music making. Whether you are with us in classes, at home, or in spirit, we hope you'll join in with us to help our communities and show that Cougars are With Everybody! Online shop is scheduled to open the week of September 14, 2020. All orders are due no later than September 30th. Orders will be shipped directly to your homes to be received the week of October 19th. Click here to place your order and please help spread the word! MSBOA 2020-21 All-State Auditions Due to the Michigan Music Conference going to a 100% virtual format, there will be no All-State performances in January of 2021. However, while MSBOA fully understands this year's All-State Program is unable to deliver the full experience, students are still to take part in this year's audition process. The honor of being accepted into this program can be a milestone in the musician's life. The experience of setting, working towards, and achieving goals is an invaluable life experience. There are college and university music programs across the country that will use these lists for the purpose of recruitment. In addition, this is a wonderful opportunity for authentic musical growth, whether your classroom is remote or face-to-face. Audition Information:
