MSBOA District Solo & Ensemble Registration: Due October 29th, 2019 For students who will be registering for solos & small ensembles (2-8 players): Registration forms can be found by clicking here. Please note the different dates according to event! To register, groups must turn in one form PER EVENT, not per person. The total registration fee needs to also accompany each form. If you will be doing multiple events, please DO NOT have your parent write one check for your combined participation fees. The total fee for each event needs to accompany the corresponding forms. Registration forms and money can be turned in to the black mailbox outside the band office door, and are due on Tuesday, October 29th. Checks should be made out to SCHS Music Boosters. All Students electing to perform at Solo & Ensemble for their Chamber Music Project as a soloist or a part of a small chamber group must also perform at our S&E Clinics after school on December 17th; please verify that this date was added onto your family calendars! Please note the following MSBOA rules when selecting your music and forming your ensembles:
I HIGHLY suggest picking out music for your group FIRST to make sure it meets all the MSBOA requirements. Do not wait until the last minute! If you need assistance forming a small group, selecting eligible music, or have any questions, please let Mrs. Staniszewski know. Large Chamber Choirs/Ensembles (i.e. Large Brass, Large Woodwind, and Large Percussion) For those students looking to perform in one of our Large Chamber Ensembles, sign-ups will be posted in the band room early this week. Rehearsal times are noted at the top of the sign-up sheets. DO NOT sign up for a large ensemble unless you are available for the rehearsal time and intend on attending ALL rehearsals! One name per line. (Do not add lines. If you are interested but there are no more lines available, please let me/Mr. Kroll know and we will add you to a waiting list or help you to find another ensemble to join.) Each large chamber group member will need to pay $7 to their coach for registration at the first rehearsal. Large Ensembles do NOT need to complete the registration form. Large ensembles do count as your Chamber Music Project performance, however, you are also encouraged to perform in other Solo & Ensemble events if you wish!
