Two weeks into our school year, and we are certainly off and running! Read on for more information about all the exciting things happening in the SCHS Band Program:
Concert Ensembles Chamber Music Projects: Students in all three concert ensembles for this week should have completed their initial Chamber Music Project forms, as well as have formed into their groups and begun, if not completed selecting their music to study for the year. There is a new form on each ensembles Google Classroom page that students will need to complete in order to communicate their groups/intended focus. If any student needs help selecting music, please let me know. The Google form needs to be completed, along with music selections, ASAP. Also, here is the finalized list for those in our large chamber ensembles (Click Here). How exciting to have such a high level of interest in these awesome groups! Please remember: committing to these large chamber ensembles also means committing to the rehearsals leading up to our performance on Saturday, January 14th for District 4 Solo & Ensemble Festival. Music will be distributed as soon as it is available, and rehearsals will be held after school beginning in November/December (TBD). Community Service Lessons: LAST CALL for mentors for our Community Service Lessons program! We need YOU! This annual partnership with the Hart MS provides a great service for our younger band students, as well as a great volunteer opportunity for our SCHS students needing community service hours for NHS, Key Club, etc. Sign-up to be a mentor on Google Classroom today!
