Hello SCHS Band Families!
We have a big week ahead of us as we transition back to in-person school as well as playing in classes. Please note the following confirmed guidelines as we look ahead to this new experience: Transitioning to In-Person School The following details have been confirmed regarding the transition to in-person schooling:
October 23rd Senior Night Football Game We have been cleared to have a limited number of people participate in the final home football game on Friday, October 23rd. This opportunity is completely voluntary. No SCHS Band, Drumline, or Guard members are required to participate in this event. If you choose to participate in this event, you MUST agree to abide by all safety regulations during both the rehearsal and football game. If you are unable or unwilling to adhere to our safety regulations, you will not be able to participate. At this point, all cleared members have been notified by e-mail. Additional members who have not received notification are on our waiting list. Should a spot open up, those on our waiting list will be notified by e-mail when cleared to participate. We will be having a brief rehearsal with all cleared members on Tuesday, October 20th at 2pm, on the hill just outside the band room. All cleared members need to bring masks, necessary music and equipment. We will be distributing pep-band music for anyone who may need extra parts. Social distancing of 9+ ft. between members is required (at least 6 marching steps from all directions). Seniors and families of seniors: All our attending seniors will be honored at this game as a part of our Senior Night festivities. If you have not already done so, please be sure to reach out to Mrs. Kendra, our parent coordinator, to confirm your attendance as well as the names and pronunciations of your guests. Instrument Repair/Supplies Drive Thru Tuesday Nights For students needing musical supplies or assistance with a repair for an instrument, A&G Music (along with RCS Music Teachers) will be available to help on Tuesday nights from 6-8pm at the Rochester High School Band Room.
