With the fall season wrapping up, we begin shifting into our next performance cycle and look ahead to Cougars Assemble, Red Wings, DSO field trip, and a lot of great music in November...
Marching Band We have two HUGE performances this week: Our Season Finale awards concert, Cougars Assemble, and we perform for our largest potential audience of the year at Little Caesar's Arena for the Detroit Red Wings game on Friday! Although we do not have school on Monday, we WILL be rehearsing Monday night to make sure we are ready for both of these events. (Although we may end early, depending on how quickly we can progress through rehearsal...) This special event will begin at 7pm in the Main Gym at SCHS. Students need to arrive to the band room in full uniform no later than 6:30pm. After the performance, all SCHS MB students and families are invited to join us in the cafeteria for a reception and to pick up any awards earned by completing this season. Cougar MB Performs at Little Caesar's Arena (November 8th) This performance will likely be for our biggest possible audience outside our local area, potentially playing for thousands! Details for this performance can be found on the timeline for this event by clicking the link above. Concert Ensembles (Concert Band, Symphony Band, Wind Ensemble) Our DSO field trip is coming up on Friday, November 15th! Students attending this trip must communicate their absence with any teachers/classes they will be missing (hours 2-6) and are responsible for any work missed while we are out of the building. A reminder too that lunch is not provided-- students will need to bring a snack/lunch to eat immediately upon our arrival to Orchestra Hall (before the concert), or to eat upon our arrival back to Rochester during 6th hour. Should any student need assistance in securing a lunch, please contact Mrs. Staniszewski. Pie Fundraiser Kick-Off! We are kicking off our fall fundraiser to benefit student activity funds and the music booster general fund! Grand Traverse Pie Company Vouchers are on sale for $17 each through 12/6. This is an important source of revenue for the program. Each music family is asked to participate by selling two pies per student. Please click here for details.
