Marching Band Congratulations to all those who auditioned and interviewed for section leader and drum major! These decisions are never easy. Seriously. And the reason they are never easy is because everyone who auditions has so many incredible strengths to offer our ensemble. You all made our jobs very difficult-- which is a GREAT thing. It was very obvious to myself & our other adult panelists that you put your whole selves into your auditions/interviews. Remember: Great leaders are not great because of titles. Great leaders are great because of their actions. Thank you for your collective hard work and dedication. YOU and your efforts are what make SCHS Bands so great. Drum majors, section leaders, and ALL interested persons are invited to our final leadership workshop on Monday, May 21st from 2:45-3:45pm. We hope all interested in sharing their leadership are able to attend! Drumline Auditions Drumline workshops/auditions will be held on Friday, May 25th from 2:30-4:30pm. SCHS Bands Trip 2019 SCHS Bands will be traveling to Walt Disney World on February 14-19, 2019! This once-in-a-lifetime trip will consist of two different performance opportunities: Performing on a Disney Stage in Walt Disney World (as professional performers with Disney Entertainment), as well as working with a studio musician in a professional recording studio environment to record our own film soundtracks. While we are down in Orlando, we will also visit all four Disney theme parks. Any student enrolled in a year-long band class for the 2018-2019 school year is invited to register for this trip! UPDATE: We currently have 39 students and 1 chaperone registered for this trip! We need additional adults in order for us to travel. The first 55 people to register (6 chaperones, 49 students) will have guaranteed seats, after which a waiting list will open. In order for the trip to proceed, the minimum number of travelers must be met (6 chaperones, 49 students). Should we hit 80 people (8 chaperones, 72 students) or more, the waiting list will be cleared and anyone who registers will be cleared for travel. To view our tentative itinerary, see pricing and accommodations, and registration directions for this exciting travel opportunity, please click here. Please feel free to contact Mrs. Staniszewski with any questions-- we want to make sure EVERY student who wants to travel with us has the opportunity to do so. The last time SCHS Bands traveled to Orlando, we had over 80 students performing all together- and it was AMAZING! We hope you will join us for this magical trip! Comments are closed.
