An Open Letter to our SCHS Band Community:
After another wildly successful State S&E Festival, I'm finding myself at a loss of words that will come close to adequately expressing my gratitude. It is truly a humbling experience to be a part of a movement that is so large, no one person could ever possibly do everything necessary to be successful. It's a very similar feeling to being in a large ensemble, where no one person could possibly cover all the necessary parts for a successful performance, and when everyone comes together to share the stage, their time, and their gifts, we are all (audience and musicians alike) graced with an incredible experience. A very heartfelt and hearty THANK YOU and congratulations to all our performers and volunteers on a successful State Solo & Ensemble event this past weekend. I received nothing but great praise from all I encountered throughout the last day. None of it would have been possible without every single person, volunteer, donation, student, and effort. THANK YOU for keeping the tradition of excellence alive at SCHS! We have a couple weeks to go until spring break along with one more weekend of festival ahead this Friday for State Jazz Festival at Utica Eisenhower HS. All that and more in this week's update: Upcoming Dates at a Glance:

MYE consists of five large ensembles: Cadenza Treble Ensemble, Chamber Singers, Jazz Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Symphony Orchestra, all of which are conducted by renowned U-M faculty. We also offer a Musicianship Course and small ensemble opportunities, such as the Trombone Ensemble and Euphonium and Tuba Ensemble. These courses are led by graduate students under the direction of a U-M faculty advisor.
