A BIG Congratulations to all our student musicians on your phenomenal performances at District Band Festival this past weekend! We have a lot more great music to come this weekend with State Solo & Ensemble, Jazz Band at Music Hall after Spring Break, and even more to come into the Spring. Please be sure to read all the updates right here in this week's Update: Bowling Night: Tuesday, March 19th Our first ever Music Department Bowling Night will be on Tuesday, March 19th at Avon North Hill Lanes. Cost is $5/person and includes bowling, shoes, and pizza. If you missed registration but are interested in joining, please email [email protected] to inquire about remaining availability. Concert Ensembles (CB, SB, WE) State Solo & Ensemble: Saturday, March 16 We are very excited to be hosting State Solo & Ensemble for the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association this year! This prestigious event hosts student musicians from over 30 area high schools who earned top ratings at the District S&E events earlier in the year, and who may move on to receive top honors and scholarships from MSBOA. The schedule of our Stoney Musicians performing at State S&E on Saturday, March 16th can be found here. Because of the size and breadth of this event, all SCHS Band and Orchestra parents and students (whether or not they are performing) need to volunteer for this event to be a successful one. This has been a point of pride in our music program for over 20 years, and as a result, many MSBOA judges request to come to SCHS for the wonderful experiences they've had here in the past for this event. We need all-hands-on-deck! We want to continue this event, and it needs participation for it to happen. Please use this link to RSVP for this special event: https://forms.gle/PZaoMWJqNo7VNa3RA Likewise, please share and distribute this link to any family and friends who may also be interested in attending!
