We are officially half way through the school year and second semester kicks off this week! Read on for all the happenings this week in the band room...
Matching Funds We are very fortunate to have had an alumni family step forward to offer our band program the opportunity to raise funds via a matching donation of up to $2,000! To date, we have raised just over $900 toward our $2000 goal- almost half way! If you are willing to help us reach our $2,000 goal to earn the other full $2,000 donation ($4,000 total for our program!), please join us for one of our upcoming concerts and donate to our donation drum, or click here to donate through our SCHS Music Booster's Online Store. Thank you in advance for any donation, big or small! Concert Ensembles Instrument Petting Zoo: Wednesday, January 31st: Help is needed for our annual 5th grade Instrument Petting Zoo on Wednesday, January 31 from 5-7pm in the band room! We need HS students to help show our 5th graders how to make a sound on their instrument. This is a great opportunity for Key Club/NHS members to earn points for community service and help our soon-to-be-Cougars select an instrument before 6th grade. If you are avail and interested in helping, please contact Mrs. Staniszewski. Large Chamber Ensembles Your chamber coaches will be scheduling rehearsals with your groups in the next few weeks based on your next performances. Those groups that earned qualifying ratings at Districts will be performing again at State S&E in March. All groups will be performing again in May. As rehearsals are determined, they will be publicized here and in the band room.
