We have another big week ahead: preparing for our final large ensemble concert as well as drumline, section leader, and drum major auditions, along with the deadline to reserve your spot at our Spring Band Awards Banquet! Upcoming Dates at a Glance:
Spring Band Banquet: Wednesday, May 15th (Reservations due May 2nd!) Hard to believe another year is coming to an end. Please join us for the end of year Band Banquet celebration at Addison Oaks! All SCHS Band students and families are invited to attend this special evening of awards and celebrate the year's accomplishments. Reservations are due May 2nd, so please do not delay. Please click here for details! Jazz Band Jazz Band students should be working on their solo study for the month of April! More information can be found by clicking here. Solos (either recorded or live) are due Monday, May 6th! Spring Band Concert: Wednesday, May 8th Our final full ensemble performance for the year, the Spring Bands Concert, is coming up on Wednesday, May 8th. Students will need to report to the Auditorium by 5:15pm in order to begin rehearsing at 5:30 pm for our "Megaband" selection. We are also in need of some chamber groups willing to perform as interludes in between ensembles. (If you are not able to attend our Chamber Music Night on May 20th, this is a great way to get in your performance!) Please let Mrs. Staniszewski know if you are interested. Drum Major & Section Leader Try-Outs Try-outs for 2019-2020 Drum Major (May 9th) & Section Leader (May 13th) are coming up soon! Please be sure to read thoroughly through all required handbooks and requirements for more details. Section Leaders applicants will need the Leadership Handbook and Section Leader Application/Essay Prompt. In addition to both of those documents, Drum Major applicants will also need the Drum Major Handbook.
