There are plenty of opportunities to be creative and make music for all SCHS Band Students, and more will be added throughout our time spent away from the classroom. Students are invited to be as active in our Virtual Band Room as they wish/resources allow. We will have planned Zoom Conferences with professional musicians, a Daily Challenge, and more fun in store! The SCHS Virtual Band Room is accessed by visiting http://classroom.google.com , logging in with district email account(@rcs-k12.us), clicking the + to "Add Class", and entering the following class code: f7z2zwo At this point, all concerts and performances from now through Spring Break (April 12th) have been cancelled. This includes the All-City Band Concert, Choral Festival (and instrumentalists invited to perform with it), State Solo & Ensemble and Jazz Festival. No decisions have been made regarding scheduled performances beyond April 12th at this time. Additional information updates will be made via ParentVue e-mail, Google Classroom, our website (http://schsbands.weebly.com), and social media platforms. If you are not currently on any of our social media accounts, here is a list for you to follow: Twitter: @SCHSBands Instagram: @SCHSBands Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/groups/StoneyCreekHSBands “This will be our reply… to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.”- Leonard Bernstein As musicians, we have a unique skill set that is particularly in demand during times of adversity. If there is anything needed in the world right now, it is more joy, more hope, more beauty- all of which you have the power to create through making music. Although I am extremely sad to not have our daily rehearsals and conversations face to face, you will have some great opportunities to sharpen your craft and make music in ways we never done before. Please do not be a stranger-- let me know if there is anything else I can do for you in the weeks to come. I am here for you and will do anything I can to support you. Looking forward to continuing to make the world a better place with all of you through music. Mrs. Staniszewski Congratulations to all our performers on Festival performances this weekend!
